Wynonna Judd and the Big Noise

Wynonna Judd and the Big Noise are currently on tour, and if they're performing at a concert venue near you, it's an opportunity not to be missed! I had the pleasure of attending their concert at the Buckhead Theatre in Atlanta last night, and I was captivated by Wynonna's exceptional voice and the overall musical experience.

Wynonna's voice has reached new heights, seamlessly blending elements of country, blues, and a touch of soul. What sets this tour apart is the decision to perform in smaller, more intimate venues rather than vast stadiums. This choice creates a closer and more personal connection between the audience and the music.

During the performance, Wynonna not only showcases her musical prowess but also shares engaging stories from her childhood, anecdotes about touring and creating music with her iconic mother, Naomi Judd, and tales of growing up with her sister, the acclaimed actress Ashley Judd. All of this is peppered with a touch of comedy, adding an extra layer of entertainment to the evening.

Concert:  Wynonna Judd

Skynard

I was surprised that she was so personal and interactive with the crowd.  She wouldn't take requests for individual songs that were being shouted out to her, but I didn't hold that against her as she has a vault of fabulous music and it is her show so she can sing whatever she wants.  Members of the crowd kept shouting for her to sing “Free Bird” by Lynyrd Skynyrd.  At first, I thought this was just a joke as I have been to hundreds of concerts and this is something people tend to yell out as a joke and a nod to Rock & Roll nostalgia.  Little did I know that she actually did record this song!  She had the blessing of Lynyrd Skynyrd as Wynonna informed us that they gave their permission for her to do the cover as they knew she was one of the few who could do it justice.
I have since downloaded her version of “Free Bird” and it is extremely well done.  However, Wynonna could sing the Declaration of Independence and we would all be in awe of her voice and talent. I have always wanted to see Wynonna and/or The Judds in concert, but the concert timing never worked with my schedule and/or my financial budget.  So glad that I got to see her live and this concert is definitely on my list of favorites. I LOVE her voice!
