About Anthony D. Drummer
A Cleveland, OH native, Anthony D. Drummer has always had a knack for the automotive industry. At a young age, Anthony started to build go-karts and minibikes from scratch, progressing to assembling cars as he matured in the craft.
Anthony is the youngest of 11 children. He graduated from Max S. Hayes Vocational High with a diploma and certificate in Complete Automotive. This led to internships at Reliable Oldsmobile, which led to a job at Jaguar Cleveland, specializing in luxury vehicles such as BMW, Mercedes, Jaguars, and Volvos. After relocating to Atlanta in the mid-1980s, Anthony studied at Georgia Perimeter College and worked with leading dealerships such as Chris BMW, Dyer & Dyer Volvo, and Atlanta Classic Cars.
In September 2002, Drummer Imports Service and Sales Center opened its doors specializing in the maintenance of BMW and Mercedes Benz luxury cars. Anthony has continuously excelled in the luxury vehicle maintenance industry. With more than 24 years of service experience, Anthony is a proven leader and innovator. One of Drummer Imports’ mission is to provide excellent customer service while exceeding the customer’s expectations at an affordable rate. Anthony believes if you provide a quality product, people will come, and the product will sell itself.

Why did you open Drummer Imports?
I was encouraged to start my own business by my friend and mentor, Devon E. Hudson, a highly successful developer and State Farm agent in South Dekalb. Much like Labron James, Devon has a passion for helping and guiding other black entrepreneurs to follow their dreams of owning a successful business.
Drummer Imports Service and Sales Center (Drummer Imports) was established out of necessity. Prior to opening Drummer Imports, the then thriving Mercedes Benz dealership in Decatur relocated to north Georgia. Subsequently, this left my community of Mercedes vehicle owners without a reliable, dependable, and convenience service center. I viewed this as an opportunity to fill a gap.
In 2001, research indicated that a significant number of BMW and Mercedes Benz automobile owners resided in the Decatur area. More specifically, the 30034 zip code reportedly had the highest number of two-family income households. Therefore, Drummer Imports could fill the Mercedes Benz service gap. Additionally, we could deliver quality and personable service in a more cost-efficient manner.
