Puerto Rico is in Need of Volunteers
All Hands and Hearts – Smart Response is now accepting volunteer applications to help with recovery efforts following the devastation of Hurricane Maria. In the fall of 2017, Hurricane Maria’s 155 mph violent winds severely impacted the island of Puerto Rico, leaving a trail of destruction in its wake. The island has yet to fully recover.

“It is the worst natural disaster on record in Puerto Rico and nearly four months later, the island still does not have power and potable water in many areas. As always, our team worked with local partners to carefully assess the damage and identify communities with the greatest need for help” noted Erik Dyson, C.E.O. of All Hands and Hearts. “Now that the situation on the ground has settled we will be helping the families, in the areas of Yabucoa and Barranquitas, in the cleanup process and to be there alongside them on the long road to recovery.”

The devastation in Puerto Rico is heartbreaking! Thank you for spreading awareness about the continued need for volunteers and support!
It is always good to go help someone in need, especially in situations like this.
wow this is so informative and thank you so much for sharing we all ned to pitch in and help when we can!
It makes my heart hurt to know that parts of PR still doesn’t have power or water. I watched something on Conan a month or two ago that went into the history of the relationship between the US and PR and I thought we absolutely need to be doing more to help. Thank you for letting us know about this volunteer organization.
Thank you for spreading awareness for those that really need it! I have a friend in Puerto Rico and so I know firsthand how slow the progress is going. They are going to need helping hands for a long time to rebuild.
Happy to help! Yes, unfortunately, the process will be a long one.
Thanks for making it clear what people can do to help out. A group from our church were just there for a week and they were shocked by the devastation that is still there.
Hope there are many people who are able to go down and help out. They were hit so very hard it will take awhile to recover.
This is so devastating! Thank you for spreading awareness, and sharing the amazing work that these volunteers are doing. I’ll be sure to spread the awareness myself to all of my activist friends!!! Xoxo

I just can’t believe it’s been so long already and there’s still so much that needs to be done. Thank you for spreading the word and making sure people remember! We all have such short attention spans these days 🙁
When you hear the individual voices of the people affected by these devastations it is difficult to ignore. The volunteers in these areas are truly amazing for dropping their lives to support others.
I completely agree. Volunteers are awesome!
It’s refreshing to see so volunteers helping them during such a devastating time!
Yes, and hopefully they can get Puerto Rico back up and running even better than before.

Thank you. I agree – volunteers are wonderful!
I have a friend who lives in Puerto Rico and it’s ridiculous how long it took for people to get the help they needed. I’m glad people are volunteering and working still!

Thank you! Hopefully, everything will stabilize in Puerto Rico soon.
This is a great cause, it’s hard to imagine how people there have been living without power for all this time.
Happy to help spread the word. It looks like only 20% of the island is without power at this time – which is definitely an improvement!
Thankfully, only 20% of the island is now without power. Hoping all power is restored soon!
I love the idea of volunteering as a means to give back to society. Puerto Rico is finally being able to rebuild and people are settling into their new definition of normal. I have never heard of this volunteer group before tho, thanks for making us aware.
You’re welcome! All Hands and Hearts is a fabulous organization!
It’s so great that you’re putting this out there! A lot of help is needed! One of my husband,s co-workers has family who lost their home:( hopefully they’re getting as much help as possible!
