Love Never Dies at Atlanta’s Fox Theatre November – December 3
I received complimentary tickets to Love Never Dies, but as always it did not impact my writing of this post. This post may contain affiliate links.
Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Love Never Dies is the sequel to world renowned Phantom of the Opera. Phantom of the Opera is one of my favorite musicals. I’ve seen it twice in London, once in New York, and once in Atlanta. I always try to fit in the time to see a play whenever I travel.
I am a little embarrassed to admit, I didn’t even know there was a sequel to Phantom of the Opera until I heard the news that Love Never Dies was coming to the Fox Theatre in Atlanta.
I was thrilled to hear that Andrew Lloyd Webber had written the music for Love Never Dies. Some critics are saying that the music is the best thing Webber has written in a quarter-century since The Phantom of the Opera and I couldn’t agree more. I have added the soundtrack to my Christmas wish list!

Love Never Dies originally premiered in 2010 and since then has enjoyed productions worldwide in London, Australia, Denmark, Japan, and Germany. This year marks the first time the musical has toured in the US.
Love Never Dies Synopsis
The year is 1907. It is 10 years after his disappearance from the Paris Opera House and The Phantom has escaped to a new life in New York where he lives amongst the screaming joy rides and freak shows of Coney Island. In this new, electrically charged world, he has finally found a place for his music to soar, but he has never stopped yearning for his one true love and musical protégée, Christine Daaé.
Now one of the world’s finest sopranos, Christine accepts an invitation to travel from Paris to New York to perform at a renowned opera house. Christine’s marriage to Raoul is suffering at the hands of his drinking and gambling and they desperately need the financial rewards that America can give them.
In a final bid to win back Christine’s love, The Phantom lures her, Raoul, and their young son Gustave, from Manhattan to the glittering and glorious world of Coney Island – not knowing what is in store for them.

I really enjoyed the musical. The costumes were amazing and the set design was one of the most elaborate I have seen in a long time. The storyline has an unexpected twist that still has me thinking about the details and I saw the musical two days ago. Can’t wait for more of my friends to see it so we can talk about all of the drama that ensued in this sequel!
If you are a fan of Phantom of the Opera, then you must see this sequel.
