You never know who you might see in Atlanta, Georgia. Numerous celebrities live within the Atlanta metro area – or at minimum have homes in Atlanta. While attending Luxury Magazine's 2004 cocktail party at the InterContinental Buckhead Atlanta hotel – we ran into Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins from the R&B-hip hop girl group – TLC. She was so pretty and very approachable. She lives here in Atlanta and is always out and about in the area.
In 1991, TLC formed in Atlanta and had a very successful career through the early 2000s.
TLC fans are anxiously awaiting the release of the upcoming 2017 TLC album. The album will feature the group's remaining members Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas and Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins.
In January 2015, TLC launched a Kickstarter campaign asking their fans' assistance in financing the project. In no more than 48 hours, donations surpassed the original goal of $150,000 to more than $430,255! Fellow musicians also contributed in donating funds for the album – including Katy Perry, Bette Midler, Soulja Boy, New Kids On the Block (NKOTB) and last but definitely not least, Justin Timberlake.
TLC fans are looking forward to the album also featuring the group's third member – Lisa “Left-Eye” Lopes who died in a car accident while on vacation in Honduras in 2002. I can still remember the day of her funeral ceremony at New Birth Missionary Baptist Church in Lithonia, GA. Thousands of people were in attendance to say goodbye and pay their last respects to the talented and beautiful young woman whose life ended too soon. Friends and fans will continue to remember her through the music that TLC produced together.
