On Set of Bad Moms Christmas Movie in Atlanta
When I received the call from Stacie Connerty of Divine Lifestyle asking if I could take her place as an extra on the set of Bad Moms Christmas – I couldn't contain my excitement! Her eardrums are probably still ringing. LOL!
Stephen Tyler's Janies House in Atlanta
Did you know that Georgia is now the number-one filming location in the world? So it is not surprising to see film sets all around the Atlanta area daily. However, I have never been on a filming set before let alone been an extra.
A few other mom bloggers were invited for this media experience and we were all asked to dress in winter attire for the filming. The scenes that we were a part of were filmed in Lenox Mall in Buckhead. The filming took place in May and let me just tell you – it was hot in Lenox Mall in May even with the air-conditioning on. If my small part of walking around the mall as a shopper is shown on screen – pay no attention to my glistening face. Oh, the hardships of being an actor. HA!
I hope that you enjoy this A Bad Moms Christmas Movie in Theaters 11.1.17 post.
STX Entertainment provided travel and accommodations for this exclusive media opportunity.
Interviews
We had the opportunity to interview the three main actors – Kristen Bell, Mila Kunis, and Kathryn Hahn. They were all very friendly and seemed to enjoy being interviewed by mom bloggers as they are all moms and I am sure our questions were less intense and definitely not invasive. In fact, Kathryn Hahn stated “This is the best interview ever, by the way. This is how I always am.”
When asked what made you want to do Bad Moms Christmas, Kathryn Hahn replied “I just remember ripping and opening presents so fast while my mom was struggling to fry bacon in the kitchen. So when I found out this film was holiday-themed, I just can't think of any other time of year that humor is more necessary when so many women are busy making magic for everybody else.”
The scenes we watched were hilarious. I was laughing so hard I was scared they were going to ask me to leave. All three actresses said that it was very easy to slip back into the roles and were excited to film with their characters' mothers (Susan Sarandon, Christine Baranski, and Cheryl Hines).
When asked about the addition of the characters' mothers in this movie, Mila Kunis responded “I hope that it makes mothers and (adult) daughters understand a little about where the other one is coming from. Ultimately, we show three different perspectives of mother-daughter relationships. It just so happens to culminate over Christmas with a focus on the generational difference of expectations for mothers then and now.”
The online chemistry of the lead characters is still there – stronger it seems. With the addition of the moms and the timeline of Christmas – it looks like a winning combination.
I am looking forward to getting my girlfriends together and scheduling a night out to watch this movie when it debuts in theatres on November 1st.
