Oscar Viewing Party 2017
I have always been a movie buff and as such, I have watched the Academy Awards ceremony every year for as long as I can remember. Back in 2003 and 2004, I had the honor of attending the Elton John AIDS Foundation (EJAF) Oscar Viewing Parties in Los Angeles, CA. The event is hosted by Sir Elton John and David Furnish and it is a who's who of Hollywood and those in the music industry. 2017 marked EJAF's 25th year anniversary and to date, the events have raised over $350M to end HIV and AIDS.
Dress to Impress
Following my attendance at the parties, I began hosting my own viewing parties. I mean, once you dress up for the Academy Awards, there's no going back, right? My daughter Ava is now my co-host and we dress up, serve delicious appetizers, and watch all of the fashion trends in anticipation of seeing the winners and hearing their acceptance speeches.
This year, Divine Lifestyle online media magazine – www.divinelifestyle.com – secured a wine donor for our party, Frances Ford Coppola Winery. Frances Ford Coppola Winery is the only wine poured at the Academy Awards and Governors Ball. “What seems logical to me is that if anyone's going to provide wine to the Academy, it ought to be the Coppola family.” Frances Ford Copolla
Making the cut. Director's Cut “Cinema Premiere 89th Edition” wine was enjoyed by the adult guests at the party. Thank you Frances Ford Copolla Winery.
Math and Science are for Girls
My daughter and I were rooting for “Hidden Figures” to win in all categories it was nominated. “Hidden Figures” might not have taken home the gold, but it definitely left a lasting impression on my daughter and the many options in math and science that are possible for girls and women.
