If you are a fan of peppermint, you will love this peppermint martini recipe with vanilla vodka. I have tried many peppermint martini recipes over the years, but this cocktail recipe is the best one yet, especially to celebrate the holiday season! The crushed candy cane rim of the glass complements the chocolate and peppermint flavors perfectly, making it a hit with your guests. This peppermint martini cocktail recipe is simple to make and adds a festive touch to any holiday gathering.
TIP: Be sure to use white crème de cacao for this recipe, as the dark version, while tasty, will not give you the desired appearance.
Peppermint Martinis with Vanilla Vodka Recipe
Yield: 1 cocktail
Time to Prepare: 10 minutes
2 oz. vanilla vodka, chilled
1 oz. white crème de cacao, chilled
1 oz. Peppermint schnapps, chilled
3 oz. peppermint candy, crushed
¼ fresh lime
Small Candy Canes
Place peppermint candy in a plastic bag and cover it with a towel. Pound the bag with a meat mallet or rolling pin until the candy is crushed into very small pieces. Transfer crushed candy pieces to a flat plate.
Run a small wedge of lime around the rim of a martini glass until it is very well-moistened. Turn the martini glass upside down and place the moistened rim onto a plate of crushed peppermints. Turn the glass gently to ensure the entire rim is evenly coated.
Fill a cocktail shaker with ice and add vodka, crème de cacao, and peppermint schnapps. Shake vigorously until thoroughly combined. Strain chilled liquid into a prepared martini glass and add a small candy cane if desired. Your guests are sure to love this peppermint vodka martini!
