If you’ve ever dreamed of getting behind the wheel of a Porsche, you’re in luck! The Porsche Drive Experience Center of Atlanta is the perfect place for you. This center offers drivers the opportunity to drive a selection of Porsche vehicles on a 1.6-mile track specifically designed to showcase the unique capabilities of Porsche cars.
Recently, A Girls Guide to Cars visited the Porsche Drive Experience Center of Atlanta, and as a result, the author got the chance to test drive both the Porsche 911 Carrera S and the Porsche 718 Cayman.

The Porsche “Playground”

“To truly appreciate what a Porsche is engineered to do, Porsche has designed a 1.6-mile circuit featuring six different driving experiences that showcase the incredible performance levels of Porsche vehicles.
When I got behind the wheel of the Porsche 718 Cayman GTS, I couldn’t wait to test out my need for speed. The Porsche 718 Cayman GTS is a mid-engine sports car with 305 horsepower and a max track speed of 175 mph.
The professional driving coach that I was paired with to guide me through the course permitted me to speed, and I hit 98 MPH in a matter of seconds in the Dynamics area on my fourth try. It was so exciting and thrilling at the same time! It is important to note that the circuit is not a racetrack, but a performance track built to test the abilities of the cars.
Out of all six sections of the driving circuit, the Wet, Low-Friction Circle section was my favorite. We were able to test out the glorious drift of the Porsche in the low-friction circle and experience the over-steer capabilities using a combination of throttle and steering input on an inward slope of wet polished concrete.”

Porsche Cayenne Off-Roading
The Cayenne is a luxury mid-size crossover sport utility vehicle manufactured by Porsche. If you want to experience off-roading, a professional driving coach will be driving the Cayenne while taking you on a separate track designed to test the engineering and safety technology behind the Cayenne’s capabilities.
Simulator Lab
At Porsche Drive Experience Center of Atlanta’s Simulator Lab, drivers of all ages get to experience the thrill of driving on some of the world’s greatest race tracks. There is a wide range of Porsche driving options to choose from, all with highly authentic physics and performance characteristics. Unfortunately, during my visit, I didn’t have enough time to try out the Simulator Lab.
Heritage Gallery
Porsche enthusiasts would enjoy exploring the Heritage Gallery located in Porsche Drive through a self-guided tour. The gallery boasts a constantly evolving array of vintage Porsche cars sourced from the Porsche Museum in Stuttgart and a diverse collection of Porsche vehicles owned by private collectors in the United States.
Restaurant 356
Restaurant 356 at Porsche Drive Experience Center of Atlanta
Restaurant 356 is a modern eatery with a refined yet laid-back vibe. Their chefs, who have received classic training, use fresh, locally sourced, organic, and sustainably-produced ingredients to craft seasonal menus with a contemporary touch. The restaurant is open for lunch, dinner, and private events, and offers a wonderful dining experience. It is open to the general public, and you can make reservations through Open Table.
