Riverdance!
I’ve always wanted to see Riverdance live after watching a few of their shows on my local PBS television station over the years. I recently got my chance to experience the magic of Riverdance live at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta, GA.
Riverdance is Irish step dancing at its finest! Don't miss your chance to see Riverdance on tour now and celebrating 20 years of entertaining millions of people worldwide.
About Riverdance
Riverdance is a theatrical show comprised primarily of traditional Irish music and dance. It originated as an interval performance act during the 1994 Eurovision Song Contest and evolved into a stage show. The show opened in Dublin, Ireland in February of 1995 and since then, the show has visited over 450 venues worldwide and has been viewed by over 25 million people. It is one of the most successful dance productions in the world and for good reason.
The Riverdance Irish Dance Troupe features world-class dancers from Ireland, U.K., America, Australia, and Canada. It is a fun and engaging show that will appeal to the entire family. From the wonderful performances (my favorite was the Flamenco), colorful costumes, and all of the talented performers and musicians – – it is an experience not to be missed. When the curtains closed following the performance, we were happy to see children so inspired by the dancers that they were trying to imitate the Irish step dancing in the aisles of the theatre.
Fun Facts Since the show began in 1995
There have been:
- Over one million pounds of ice used by the dancers to aid muscle recovery after the shows.
- Over 80,000 of pounds of chocolate consumed (for energy) by the cast.
- 62 marriages between company members.
- 92 Riverdance babies born (with more on the way!)

Disclosure: I received a complimentary ticket to this event. However, in no way did this influence my opinion or review of the performance.

I have always liked Riverdance. It would be so cool to see it live at The Fox Theatre.
I have experienced the show here in New York City, it really is a wonderful show, and no surprise here that it has lasted so long, here’s to 20 more years!
Ha! Well, there is a slight difference between Atlanta and New York – but we are slowly catching up! LOL! I Love NY and your access to Broadway (and too many other things to list).
I have been to many live performances but have yet to see Riverdance. If it’s ever in my area, I am definitely planning to see it.
I have always been mesmerized by River Dancing. They are seriously skilled!
I would love to watch Riverdance! This is one of those times when I wish I live close to Broadway. Sounds like something my sisters and I would really enjoy watching!
I think it would be exciting to see Riverdance. I can see why it’s been around so long. It has an awesome appeal factor.
I remember when this first came out. It was so popular. I used to see advertisements for it all the time. I have never seen it, but it sounds like a fun time!
You should try and see it if you can Dawn. It doesn’t disapoint!
I just love this. I have been a Riverdance fan since day one. I’ve different lead dancers and even the other productions of Michael Flatley. It’s an amazing production. I wish everyone could experience it.
I completely agree Chrystal!
It sounds like an amazing show to watch. I have never seen it live before and it would be nice to be able to watch it someday soon.
My dad and I were just talking about Riverdance. It was incredibly popular among the girls in my high school, so we saw many performances. But it’s been a while for either of us. Sounds like so much fun to see it again!
