Why did you create Georgia Hollywood Review and Georgia Hollywood TV?
I launched Georgia Hollywood Review and Georgia Hollywood TV in 2019 after seeing a niche in the industry for a publication that focused on above-the-line talent (screenwriters, producers, directors, actors, etc.) and below-the-line talent (financial companies to fund the productions) and raise awareness of what the film and tv industry in Georgia is all about. The publication is also the place to go for information about film and tv jobs, special events, upcoming productions and to celebrate past, present, and future films produced in Georgia.
What are your goals for Georgia Hollywood Review and Georgia Hollywood TV?
Our larger goal and vision is to be a strong catalyst for the Georgia film industry and helping it to continue its development to make above the line talent a big deal here. This is why we've also gotten into other sectors of the industry such as executive producing, publicity and content creation. We don't want Georgia to be just a place where people use our space for filming and for the tax credit, we want to be sure that our above-the-line native talents are being utilized.
To make that happen, we are executive producing a couple of major feature films in 2020 and 2021. We have a publicity agency where we work with above-the-line and below-the-line talent to get them local press, get them on local tv and radio stations, in addition to developing press and media kits for them. We are also producing several docuseries. One is a sports show, one is a show on Latin Atlantans, and a few others are focused empowering local performing artists here in Atlanta.
Master Class Events
Miles and his team will be starting Master Class events later this year. The Master Class events will be a cross between Tony Robbins and Oprah Winfrey seminars where they provide resources, vendors, sponsors, and speakers all talking about ways for people to be more successful within the industry regardless of the particular genre that they work in. Their goal is to do four Master Class events each year.
