How to Take Care of Your Feet

There are lots of jobs that require you to be on your feet all day from shop assistants to teachers, cabin crew to builders. It seems that the world of work has been split down the middle so you are either rushing about all day or spending your waking hours sitting at a desk, completely sedentary.

Simply Amazing Living

One of the main problems that people who spend all day rushing around find is that their comfort is compromised. Ideally, we humans are meant to balance up the amount of time we spend on our feet and off them so finding a little bit more of a compromise will suit you well. Here’s what you need to know:

Shoes are Everything

Just as horses need shoes to help protect their feet, we humans need shoes too. Unfortunately, though, we have spiraled into a crazy fashion-dictated world of stilettos and points. However lovely these shoes may look, they aren’t quite what women need to stay on their feet all day, are they?

Instead, you should look for more comfortable and supportive shoes. Straps will always improve the way that shoes hug your foot, and supple leather uppers are also a good way to get the perfect fit. And, since more and more women are joining in with sensible shoe fashion sites like Alegria Shoe Shop are offering some beautiful shoes you can spend all day in and enjoy wearing too.How to Take Care of Your Feet article pin

Stretch it Out

When you are moving all day, you are putting your muscles through a lot. While this is certainly a good thing for your overall health, you may find that at the end of the day, you have a buildup of lactic acid causing you to feel stiff and sore.

The best thing for this is to do an exercise like yoga or pilates to gently but firmly realign your muscles and release that lactic acid. If you can, you might also like to do some stretches on your breaks and there are a few you can do while you are sitting down. This will also help to relieve any stresses of the day and allow you to relax more effectively before bedtime.

Eat Smaller Meals

If you are running around all day, the last thing you want is to feel either starving hungry, or just too full. The key to being comfortable is finding the balance between the two and figuring out a way to make sure that you are never starving but not too full either. If you can, then packing a few smaller meals to nibble on throughout the day will help to moderate your hunger on the go.

Try using more proteins and fats to keep you fuller for longer too. Eggs are ideal for this kind of eating because they are light, quick to cook, and provide lots of good nutrients to keep you going. Similarly, you could try granola muffins, soups, and salads to get more fruit and veg into your diet.
