The Best Peppermint Bark Recipe for the Holidays
Peppermint bark is one of those seasonal favorites that everyone seems to enjoy. If you’ve never made it before, you are in for a very pleasant surprise. This super easy recipe assembles quickly with minimal fuss.
My family request that I make this recipe each winter for the holiday season and I wanted to share it with you! Not surprisingly, the “secret” to outstanding peppermint bark is to use high-quality chocolate. If you prefer, you can use all dark or all white chocolate for this recipe.
Peppermint Bark Recipe
Yield: 2 pounds
Total Prep Time: 2 hours, including refrigeration
Ingredients:
16 oz. high-quality dark chocolate, chopped into small pieces
16 oz. high-quality white chocolate, chopped into small pieces
1 c. crushed candy canes or other peppermint candy
Directions:
Step 1:
Place peppermint candy in a heavy-duty freezer bag and cover with a towel. Pound bag with a kitchen mallet or rolling pin until finely crushed. Set aside. (This can be done in a food processor if preferred).
Step 2:
Line a small rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper. If necessary, dampen the bottom of the outer edges of the parchment paper to hold it in place.
Step 3:
In a double boiler, melt the dark chocolate until smooth. Transfer while warm and melted to parchment paper on the lined baking sheet and spread with a plastic spatula until uniformly thick.
Step 4:
Thoroughly clean the double boiler before melting the white chocolate. Once smooth, stir in the crushed peppermint pieces until evenly distributed. Pour the white chocolate mixture on top of the dark chocolate layer. Spread until evenly distributed over the dark chocolate layer.
Final Step:
Place baking sheet in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours. Once it has hardened, break peppermint bark into pieces before serving at room temperature or storing it in a closed container in the refrigerator.

[…] Best Peppermint Bark Recipe […]
I’ve been meaning to make peppermint bark for ages now. It’s a lovely treat for the kids.
It really is! Enjoy!
This looks and sounds incredible. The mint/chocolate combination is one of the flavours that I most associate with the holiday season. I am definitely going to have to make this while we’re home during the holidays. After all, with the current situation here (back in lockdown) it’s not like I have anything better to do lol
LOL! I hope you love it as much as I do!
Not going to lie, I dislike peppermint and white chocolate. But I have to say my wife would absolutely love this recipe. So we may have to try and make this for christmas at her mom’s house cause this recipe looks easy enough to make.
No worries! LOL
I hope she tries the recipe and loves it as much as I do!
